Hold Hands and Die! by John Maguire

$100.00

Hold hands and die! The incredibly true story of the People's Temple and the Reverend Jim Jones by John Maguire

Condition: Good vintage condition. There is some old sticky tape remnants on the inside covers, some creasing/light wear/rubbing and scuffs on the cover and a few minor marks in places. Pages are overall very good. The first page has a section cut out at the top and a small tear but aside from a little yellowing the book is clean and tidy.

Notes: Rare copy of this first edition 1978 paperback. Contains B+W images of adult nature. Front cover has been covered over as it's not suitable for children.

Tragedy in Guyana. Why?

* Over 900 dead.
* Ambush and Murder.
* Suicide.

The question is 'how could it happen?'

How could one man induce over a thousand Americans to give up their worldly possessions and move to South America?

Why was Congressman Leo J. Ryan ambushed and murdered?

How could so many respected Americans such as Rosalynn Carter, Vice President Walter Mondale, the mayor of San Francisco, Joseph Califano, Secretary of HEW, write complimentary letters to Reverend Jim Jones?

Was the People's Temple planning to move to Russia?

Why did Rev. Jones' son think his father was a fanatic and a paranoid?
