With a lifelong love of reading and overflowing bookshelves, it became apparent in 2022, that founder and heavy metal musician Cassandra George should definitely start a book store.

The idea blossomed into an ever growing range of interesting and diverse books, sourced from unloved collections, forgotten boxes and the darkest, dustiest corners of old sheds. With the appreciation of the great pleasure and wealth of information contained within these pages, our books are given a new lease on life and the chance to continue to inspire and delight their readers.

All of our books are clean, packaged with care and shipped free within Australia. Overseas orders are very welcome, please message us for a postage quote to your location.

Down to Earth Books is based in the outback in the beautiful Flinders Ranges in South Australia. And yes, we do put down our books to admire the view frequently!
